I have smooth skin

There are a few blogs that I follow, mostly photographers. One of the photographers does what she calls a "Magazine Monday" each week. Basically it's her trying something out from a magazine she read. Sometimes it's a recipe, sometimes a style trend, and about a week or so ago, it was a homemade body scrub. I NEVER do any of the homemade things like this because they inevitably require some odd ingredient like seaweed or baby oysters. Or something. You know what I mean? The recipes never have things I already have at home. They would require some serious grocery shopping. And those who know me, know that I DESPISE grocery shopping. I do it as little as humanly possible while still feeding my husband and puppy, this usually means once a week. Although I have been known to push this by eating out and feeding the dog bread. Like her mommy, she loves carbs.
I digress though. The magazine Monday that I actually was able to follow was for the most amazing body scrub with ingredients that I had in my kitchen. This scrub works like a charm as well! I use it all the time now and swear by it! Even the hubs on his extremely dry back and it worked perfectly. I have a few tips to make this incredible. First of all, I doubled the recipe but didn't have enough lemon, so I didn't have enough rind. This was a mistake. It will not smell as good without it. Also, don't use extra virgin olive oil. Regular olive oil or light olive oil only. It will be too oily. Those are my suggestions. Now make this thing. Its great.
1 tsp honey
1/4 cup light olive oil
1 cup raw sugar (I don't know what the difference is between raw sugar and regular sugar that everyone has in their cupboards, so I used the Domino sugar I had...)
2 tsp citrus zest (again, I used lemon, but I bet any would be good. I don't like the taste of grapefruit, but I bet the smell would be yummo)

The above recipe is a single "serving," but you can double if you want more. Which you will.

This is what it looks like when it is all done!

This is what my belly looks like at 33 weeks after using this scrub! It is super soft and smooth! It really makes me glow! :)

I thought I would leave you with a really cute picture of the world's most adorable dog! She had a rough day today... 2 shots, blood drawn, and daddy brushed her. Yeah, I know that most dogs like this, but Penny hates it. She is unique. :) We thought she needed to see the world through rose-colored glasses. And really, who doesn't?

  1. Can I use this to make my belly skin smooth if I'm not actually pregnant? Lookin' good, Hot Mama! :)
